Who are we?

Hemp the Climate is a pioneering non-profit organization and think tank that provides strategic analysis and education to industrial stakeholders and works with governmental, multilateral and non-profit organizations to accelerate the use of hemp for climate resilience.

As a group of innovators, hemp and sustainability experts, we help industry stakeholders reduce their environmental impact and improve their business positioning through creating more sustainable supply chain and production chains, based on industrial hemp.

Our team and board members have over 20 years of experience in every step of the hemp production and processing chains, material innovation, product development, carbon footprinting and environmental impact assessment.

Tracking current market opportunities and latest developments in the regulatory environment for hemp is our daily bread.

Spreading hope with a nature-based solution.

With a deep conviction that industrial hemp represents a powerful tool to help our society transit to a carbon-neutral economy and contribute to an overall healthier world, we are aiming to get this message widely recognized and incorporated by industry stakeholders, policymakers, academics, governments, farmers, investors and environmental organizations working around climate change.

We believe that by doing so, we will promote the necessary cross-disciplinary sharing of ideas, information, data, and practical skills in order to use industrial hemp to help mitigate the climate crisis.

Our Role

Bridging the gap between the rapidly growing hemp industry and the environmental movement.

Our organization works at the intersection of diverse disciplines and endeavors: hemp agronomy, hemp processing, climate change mitigation, circular economy, bio-economy, material innovation, co2 absorption, soil health, as well as innovative technologies, product design and development.

Our Purpose

We help tackle environmental problems and protect valuable (non-renewable) natural resources through a versatile use of industrial hemp.

Ultimately, we aim to present hemp as a low-emission tool for the post petrochemical economy, a tool that can help us partially replace fossil fuels and other polluting and unsustainable resources, while being good for business.

We aim to develop a better basic understanding of the hemp plant, not only as an agricultural product and potent raw material, but also as a tool for environmental regeneration.

Our Pillars

We look at industrial hemp through a lens of its environmental added value and the business potential it represents. This view is divided into three foundational pillars, essentially the most valuable aspects that a sustainable industrial crop, such as hemp, can offer for the environment, economy and ultimately- the climate.
